Shopping Budget: April 2014

Summer Must Haves

I’ve never been more ready for summer and I think last month’s purchases would agree.  Instead of stocking up spring layers, I spent most of my shopping budget already in vacation mode.  Mirrored aviators, a floral print romper, and a few new dresses to add to the summer mix.  I went a little over budget this month, but the thought of vacay days, warm temps and sunshine had me a little trigger-happy.  Happy May!

Outfit Planning: Derby Style

Kentucky Derby Outfitdress | hat | bag | necklace | wedges

Derby season is here!  Last year, I went to the Belmont Stakes (one of the three Triple Crown races) and I couldn’t help but fall in love with the derby culture.  It’s not so much about the horse racing as it is about getting gussied up in a feminine dress and an over the top hat and making an entire day out of a two-minute race.  It’s equal parts pageantry and shenanigans.  So whether you’re going to the Derby this season or are looking for the perfect spring outfit, I’ve got a few fabulous looks for you!

Maxed Out

Spring Maxi DressHot off the trail of my spring maxi dress roundup, I was super excited to don the newest maxi in what will surely be a growing collection.  So excited in fact, that I apparently couldn’t wait to hem the dress before I wore it.

Periwinkle Maxi Dress A much needed trip to the tailor aside, I actually feel taller in a maxi dress.  A soft, solid color elongates the body and a easy flowing fabric enhances that no muss, no fuss look that I’ve been loving lately.  Just excuse the pool of fabric around my feet and pretend that it adds to the romance of the look.Perwinkle Maxi Dress Blue Dress & Straw Clutch Blue Maxi Dress & Straw Clutch Spring Maxi Dress Blue Dress & Straw Clutch
