Whenever the new year rolls around, I find myself re-visiting some not-so-new resolutions. Staying fit is usually at the top of my list — not necessarily because I’m feeling guilty about all the sweets I devoured over the holidays (okay, that’s part of it), but because I want to challenge myself to be stronger and healthier than the year before. This year is no exception (mission #bridebod is in full effect) and thankfully, chic workout gear like these sneakers or these leggings make it much easier to hit the gym in style.

Let’s rewind to this past weekend, when I basically lived in an outfit of chambray and crochet. I was so excited to snag these summer shorts for 70% off after passing them up over three months ago! So excited that I couldn’t take them off. I took them out to Brooklyn for drinks one night and then to the Upper West Side the next day for brunch. I wore it two days in a row and thankfully, the boyfriend didn’t judge. Love is patient, love is kind. I’d have to agree on both accounts.

This weekend, I’m headed on quick trip upstate for the boyfriend’s family reunion. I’m talking a six-hour drive on Saturday morning and back to the city by Sunday night. It’s a lot of travel for such a short stay so a carefully curated weekender wardrobe is a must … which is easier said than done for a serial overpacker like me. This time around, I’m counting on one-piece outfits like a floral dress or a striped romper. They’ll take up minimal space in my weekender bag and should cover the range of weekend plans. I’m keeping the accessories to a minimum with a cute cuff or two and a pair of comfortable wedges and I’ll BRB! Happy weekend loves!
