Fall Essentials

When it comes to neutrals, black and white has kind of been my jam lately (see exhibit A and B).  But as we dive further into fall, I’m craving subdued hues that are a little richer and a little more luxe.  Enter the new color contenders: navy, dove grey, blush and camel.  Pieces like this moto jacket, this crossbody bag and this two-toned tote make for the perfect fall refresh on the classics and I’m dying to add them into the rotation.  What’ve you been craving lately?

Swiss Dot Pants & Leopard Heels

During Fashion Week, everyone wants to know what shows you went to and how many more you have lined up.  The truth of the matter is, going to shows at Lincoln Center is a treat, but for me, NYFW was a balance between work and play.  I still punched in at my 9-to-5 during the day and headed to events during the evening and weekends.

Black & White Work Outfit

So on days where I played double duty, my outfit followed suit.  This particular look was leaning more towards work wear, but details like the leather trim on a pair of slim dotted pants, the rich shade of burgundy on the clutch and the killer statement necklace took it from office to runway show in no time flat.  For more on NYFW, check out my video recap!

White A-Line Skirt & Fall Accessories

Top // Skirt // Necklace // Bracelet // Bag // Heels

We all know that the “No White After Labor Day” rule is long dead, but actually practicing what you preach is a whole ‘nother conversation.  Instead of throwing on head-to-toe whites and brights like you might during the summer, pick one crisp piece and pair it with a darker palette of fall shades.  I love the idea of a white flared skirt with a burgundy top or a sharp white tote contrasted against a simple black dress.  Balance is everything — especially when it means the difference between looking like you’re ready for fall versus looking like you’re on the walk of shame from Diddy’s white party.  How are you wearing white this season?
