There was a time (aka the past four years) when I would brave the cold, drag James outside and take blog photos in the dead of winter. This was all well and good if I was trying to feature my puffer coat in every outfit, but then you’d probably stop following me, right? It’s okay to be honest. These days, I’m less inclined to grin and bear it in below freezing temps. Instead, I’ve employed a few strategies to keep the blog content coming throughout the season.

Dressing for a West Coast Winter

How to Dress for the Winter in San Diego

BP turtleneck a line dress (comes in 4 color) / BP buffalo plaid oblong scarf / Chloe ‘Marcie’ crossbody bag in ‘Cashmere Grey’ / Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’ sunglasses / Converse ‘Chuck Taylor All Stars’ sneakers / Smashbox ‘Be Legendary’ matte lipstick in ‘Safe Word’

Whenever we visit the west coast in the winter, I get a little pang of jealousy as I imagine what life could be like if we just moved back home. I mean, bare legs in January? That’s a good enough reason to move back, right?

Oversized Plaid Poncho & OTK Boots

Skirt The Rules / Plaid Scarf & Over the Knee Boots

J.Crew cape-scarf in oversized plaid (sold out, similar scarf here) / Denim leggings / Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’ sunglassesMadewell ‘Knotshine’ necklace / Daniel Wellington ‘Classic St. Mawes’ 40 mm watch (c/o) / LFL ‘Radikal’ over the knee boot in grey suede (c/o) / NARS velvet matte lip pencil in ‘Walkyrie’

I only have a few more days until I go back to the west coast for the holidays, so I’m counting down with the coziest outfit ever.
