sweet treats.

I can’t remember the last time I had a popsicle, but after browsing through these recipes and then stepping outside into the sweltering heat, I knew I had to get my hands on some homemade treats.  So I dashed over to Target and grabbed a pair of popsicle molds for $3.99 (each mold makes four popsicles).

Having never made popsicles before, I decided to start off with a pretty simple recipe involving 1 cup OJ, 2 cups fresh or frozen mangoes, and 2 tablespoons of honey.

Blend and pour into the molds and freeze until solid (at least 4 hours or overnight).

The result: a chilled tangy treat, tamed by the richness of the honey.  It’s a perfectly divine escape from the summer temps and will be sure to melt you away!

white out.

Once upon a time, someone decided that it was fashionably acceptable to wear white only between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Since I’ve never taken heed of this rule (and neither should you!), MDW marks the continuation of donning crisp white pieces, rather than the start of it.

White can look stylishly sharp in a one-shoulder dress (my fave) or romantically soft in a cowl-neck top. Throw on some white enamel or beaded jewelry for an extra pop or keep it toned down with ivory wedges and a soft pleated skirt. Either way you choose to wear white, wear it now and all year long.

breezy blazer.

zara blazer; h&m dress; ray-ban aviators; michael by michael kors clutch; nicole sandals

For Memorial Day Weekend, the bf and I escaped the heat and spent a few days in San Diego.  The ocean breeze provided the perfect climate for lightweight blazers and long dresses.

On top of the fact that this dress was only $10 at H&M, I fell in love it with for its thick white & marigold stripes and fun, flowing shape (it’s perfect for twirling around!).  I topped it with a cobalt blue blazer, not just for a little warmth, but because I love the combination of big, bold colors for summer.

Definitely taking a piece of the beach back with me when I go back to work tomorrow.  Hope everyone had a wonderful MDW!
