take a bath.

Stressful week?  Sounds like an understatement.  The general consensus is that school/work/taxes are sucking the life out of everyone, but I found a pretty decent (non-alcoholic) remedy: take a bath!

My friend Emily and I visited fabulously fragant-filled store at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas called Lush.  By now, you know that I love anything colorful and here, I felt like a kid in a candy store … except this kid is a hygiene enthusiast and the candy store is full of bath salts.

The store was stacked with salts and soaps with kitschy names, image-invoking descriptions, and invigorating aromas.  And while we didn’t go home with any bath-time paraphernalia, it was an experience in and of itself just taking in all the colors and scents.

Hopefully, you find some time in the week to relax, take a breather, and enjoy life, if even for just a moment.  If doing it for yourself isn’t enough, do it for me so that I can live vicariously through you.

color combo.

My favorite part of spring is the return of bright, bold colors.  It’s about time we shed the layers of black and grey, and inject some vibrant hues into our lives.

A few weeks ago, I visited one of my favorite stores, Zara (located on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica), and found the perfect inspiration.

My favorite combination entailed the pairing of soft nudes with fire-engine reds.  It’s the perfect contrast between delicate and fierce.  By incorporating pieces of winter neutrals, it’s also an easy way to transition into bold colors without looking like you dressed yourself with a box of Crayolas.

I also love me some cobalt blue.  There’s something captivating about this shade, that instantly electrifies an outfit without any of that unwanted shock.  Paired with caramelized brown pieces, the combination makes for a great look for day or night.

And the easiest way to add a little color to your outfit: throw on a light-weight scarf in rich, primary color or a fun, spotted pattern.

red + blue.

So I’m definitely busting out another romper — not just because I’m obsessed with them, but because I’m wild about my school.  The past week was all about donning the red and blue as we watched our basketball team bring their best to the NCAA Tournament.

While we had our hearts broken in the Elite Eight, all of the cheering, camaraderie, and ‘BTFD’ Facebook statuses, reminded me of how much I love being a Wildcat.  I love our team and my Wildcat fam, and I can’t wait for next season!  Bear Down!
