2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Try On Session

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally open to the public and I’m trying on everything that’s still in stock!

Chelsea28 Floral Sleeve Maxi Dress – $99 ($148 after sale) / Cole Haan ‘Ramsey’ Calf Hair Leopard Flats – $100 ($150 after sale)

Funny story about the ultimate blogger fail. During the days leading up to the #NSale, I was combing the Nordstrom site to scope out what was going to be included in the sale (more details about my strategy here), bookmarking my favorites and building out a dedicated page on my blog to my favorite items.

When early access finally opened for cardholders … I couldn’t find my card. In fact, I probably hadn’t even used my card since last year’s sale and had no idea where it could be. It wasn’t in my wallet and for some reason, it was no longer in my saved payment methods online. I couldn’t place my online order, so I ended up taking a train out to Long Island to shop in store (we don’t have a physical Nordstrom store in NYC).

That’s dedication right? Well, the series of misfortunate events doesn’t stop there. By the time I got to Nordstrom, nearly everything I wanted was sold out in my size (mind you, I got there at 6:00 PM on Friday!). If you read my wish list post from last week, then you know what I already wanted – this colorblock cardi, this neutral chunky sweater and these tie-waist pants. All sold out in my size.

But it’s fine – turns out this kind of worked in my favor. Everything I wanted was everything that every other blogger covered about the #NSale (which goes to show how basic I am). These items sold out within a few hours of early access and hasn’t been restocked since! The things I ended up trying and buying in the Long Island store is still stocked in most sizes and available for public access! So happy shopping friends!

The first dress I tried on (the mustard yellow floral maxi pictured above) was love at first sight. It’s not part of my normal color palette, but the fit and the print were too good to pass up, plus the quality is excellent! The combo of maroon, mustard and electric sky blue are the perfect mix to take you from summer to fall.

Maggy London Polka Dot Midi Dress – $98 ($148 after sale) / Cole Haan ‘Ramsey’ Calf Hair Leopard Flats – $100 ($150 after sale)

This navy dot dress was a dream and if I hadn’t owned something similar from my trip to Hawaii, I would’ve picked this one up too. I love the dotted texture and the ruffle detail on the high neckline. The elastic waistband makes this dress super comfy and easy too!

Gal Meets Glam “Liza” Print Dress – $119 ($178 after sale) / Cole Haan ‘Ramsey’ Calf Hair Leopard Flats – $100 ($150 after sale)

I was really excited to see that a few Nordstrom-exclusive Gal Meets Glam dresses are included in the sale. I feel like this printed maxi dress is a little more boho than my normal style, but the print and fabric are just absolutely gorgeous. I’m wearing a 00 here, but only because my regular size 0 was out of stock. It fit well, but was a bit tight around the waist. I would say stick with your normal size in this dress.

Gal Meets Glam ‘Kinsley’ Wrap Dress – $119 ($168 after sale) / Sole Society ‘Zeda’ Faux Leather Tote Bag – $33 ($50 after sale) / Cole Haan ‘Ramsey’ Calf Hair Leopard Flats – $100 ($150 after sale)

This navy wrap dress is probably my favorite purchase from the sale so far. It’s the perfect dress for work – flutter sleeves, wrap front, and it has pockets! I’m wearing a 00 here (again, because my normal size 0 was sold out), but I think this worked out for the best. There’s a bit of extra fabric around the wrap front that would’ve probably been too much with my normal size. And since this is a true wrap dress, I can loosen the waist as needed.

Pleated Sleeveless Shift Dress – $66 ($99 after sale) / Cole Haan ‘Ramsey’ Calf Hair Leopard Flats – $100 ($150 after sale)

I didn’t ended up buying this dress because I didn’t need another swing dress, but I’m kind of regretting not getting it now. The dress has the most beautiful pleats (like micro pleats … if that’s a thing!). Again, loving the maroon, mustard and sky blue color combo to transition to fall! Wearing an XS here.

BP Polka Dot Jumpsuit – $46 ($69 after sale) / Cole Haan ‘Ramsey’ Calf Hair Leopard Flats – $100 ($150 after sale)

This silhouette of this wide-legged jumpsuit is totally my style, but the green polka dots isn’t. I guess this is what happens when there’s slim picking in store! Surprisingly, I loved the fit of the jumpsuit and if this print and color combo is your style, I say go for it! One thing to note – the material is see through (if you look closely, you can see my black bra), but nothing nude underwear can’t fix!

BP Lace Trim Satin Camisole Top – $25.90 (currently sold out, but keep checking back!) / Halogen Tie Waist Twill Pants – $66 ($99 after sale) / Sole Society ‘Zeda’ Faux Leather Tote Bag – $33 ($50 after sale) / Cole Haan ‘Ramsey’ Calf Hair Leopard Flats – $100 ($150 after sale)

Guys, this outfit is my dream work outfit – just add a cardigan or blazer. I was lucky enough to find this lace cami in my size (XS). These pants were the #1 item on my wishlist, but sadly they only had a size 2 in store. The fit was just slightly too large and I’m hoping a size 0 pops up online soon – just have to keep an eye out because people are always making returns!

Thread & Supply Wubby Fleece Pullover – $50 ($78 after sale) / Spanx Faux Leather Leggings – $65 ($98 after sale) / Cole Haan ‘Ramsey’ Calf Hair Leopard Flats – $100 ($150 after sale)

I passed on this fuzzy pullover because they sold out in my size, but didn’t dare to miss it this year. This sweater is SO comfy that I’m actually secretly excited for the weather cool down again. I’m wearing an XS and feel like there’s still plenty of room!

On the other hand, I’m torn on these Spanx faux leather leggings. I’ve seen so many people rave about these leggings, but found the inside of them to be a bit scratchy (was I trying on the right pair?!). The fit of the XS was perfect, but didn’t bring them home with me. I might order them online and give them another shot – they just look so good and flattering!

Leith Longline Cardigan – $46 ($69 after sale) / Halogen V-neck Camisole – $30 ($49 after sale) / Spanx Faux Leather Leggings – $65 ($98 after sale) / Sole Society ‘Zeda’ Faux Leather Tote Bag – $33 ($50 after sale) / Cole Haan ‘Ramsey’ Calf Hair Leopard Flats – $100 ($150 after sale)

Another one of my favorite purchases – this long blush cardigan. The NSale has always been a great time to stock up on sweaters and cardis and I really love the slimming effect of this one. I ended up trying an XXS in store and love the fitted look. Cardigan sleeves usually end up stretching over time, so it’s perfect to start a little smaller.

BP Longline Open Cardigan – $32 ($49 after sale) / Halogen V-neck Camisole – $30 ($49 after sale) / Spanx Faux Leather Leggings – $65 ($98 after sale) / Sole Society ‘Zeda’ Faux Leather Tote Bag – $33 ($50 after sale) / Cole Haan ‘Ramsey’ Calf Hair Leopard Flats – $100 ($150 after sale)

This cardigan is the bread and butter of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I already own it in grey and mustard, and the style keeps coming back year after year. Rightfully so – it’s a classic cardi and an unbeatable price. I’m wearing an XXS again and would recommend sizing down from your normal size.

ASTR Lace Midi Dress – $59 ($89 after sale)

You may have seen me wear this lace midi dress in a few other colors and there’s a reason – this dress is stunning!! I love the cami straps and the v-neckline, but especially appreciate how beautiful the lace is cut. This dress comes in a ton of different colors and is the perfect wedding guest dress. Just a warning – be sure to size up! I’m wearing a size S here and it just barely fits!

Cole Haan ‘Ramsey’ Calf Hair Leopard Flats – $100 ($150 after sale)

You may have noticed that I wore these leopard flats in nearly every outfit. I stopped by the shoe department before heading up to the clothes section. I had no intention on picking up another pair of leopard shoes (I own so many!!), but these pointed toe flats fit so perfectly – at the end of the day when my feet were swollen, these shoes felt like I was walking on cloud nine! It’s a bit of a splurge for flats, but worth every penny. I’m wearing my true size – 6.5 – here.

Adidas Edge Luxe 3 Running Shoe – $64 ($85 after sale) / Nike Free TR 8 Premium Training Shoe – $75 ($100 after sale)

Okay, last review for now – I had my eye on both of these but only walked away with one pair. I was intrigued by these Nikes – especially when I realized the accent was rose gold (for some reason it looks like brown leather online). I loved the pair from afar, but upon closer inspection the grey has a bit of glitter to it – not really something I’m looking for in a running shoe. I did however take home the Adidas because I was in the market for a new pair of white sneakers and love the rose gold stripes! Both fit great in my true size!

Okay guys, that was A LOT, but I hope it helped if you’re shopping the Anniversary Sale today! Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing some of favorite styled looks – happy sale shopping and have a great weekend!

I hear ya! The things that I wanted when the sale opened this morning has long since sold out! I am not letting that stop me though because like you, there are other items that are catching my eye and for a better reason. I love the micro pleated swing dress that you tried on. It’s my kind of silhouette and the color is just gorgeous! Signing off now to go find it! Happy Friday!
