how to: survive a polar vortex

How to Survive a Polar Vortex

Apparently, I never knew what a real winter felt like until now: the year of the polar vortex.  Last year, it snowed only three times over the course of several months.  This year, it snowed three times in a matter of days.  Let’s just say, my dog (who is also experiencing his first real winter) is not pleased.

While I still refuse to buy a puffer jacket, you’ll probably find me decked out in all other winter gear, trying to hold on for dear life until spring.  My winter uniform usually involves a chunky knit sweater and faux leather leggings (underneath of which there’s another layer of thermal wear).  I also prefer schlepping around the city with a crossbody bag so that I can keep my glove-covered hands properly shoved into my wool coat. So tell me, how are you surviving this year’s winter?  I’d love to know — unless you live in California or Arizona, in which case we’re not currently on speaking terms.

hehe love this! that sweater and the gloves are so fun!
I honestly don’t know how you’re doing without a puffer jacket? I got one for the -40 days and I’m so glad I did. But yes lately I’ve been trying to go without it as a way of rebelling against this way too long winter.
Also wearing tights under jeans is a great way of keeping warm 😉
