I used to dread New Year’s Eve. It’s a high-expectation holiday (like Valentine’s Day), where you feel obligated to jump through hoops and pay unjust amounts to “have a good time.” Well a few years ago, my friends and I decided to lower our standards and see where the night would take us. We got dressed up, went to the first dive bar we could find and ended up singing the night away with a bar full of new best friends. It was one of my all-time best nights ever because I wasn’t focused on having fun, but rather on the moment itself.

So in anticipation this year’s festivities, I put together two outfits to help you make it to midnight. For a chic night in with friends, I love the idea of pairing an oversized blush sweater with a sequin skirt. The faux fur scarf adds another layer of texture but keeps things ultra cozy. For a big night out, it’s all about this gold sequin dress. Enough said, right? Pair it with a cocktail ring and dangly earrings and you might give the Times Square ball a run for its money. Whatever you choose to do tomorrow night, I hope it’s full of magic and sparkle! xx

Two Ways to Wear: Fall Florals

No matter the season, a floral print is always a good idea (see exhibit A and exhibit B). I love them in dark, moody hues like this wine-colored top or in something a little more classic like this navy flared skirt. Paired with the right accessories (think rich cognac booties or pitch black skinny jeans), you can totally rock the foliage long after the leaves fall.
