Refined & Relaxed

Black Ikat Striped Dress

You guys … I can’t even begin to explain how giddy all your sweet words about yesterday’s post made me feel.  It’s only a mini-milestone in the grand scheme of things, but I’m so thankful that I get to call it mine and then be able to share it with you.  Also, damn.  I read over what I wrote and realized that I need to speak from the heart/drink and blog more often.  They’re basically one in the same, right?

Casual & Loose Black Dress

To sum it up: it’s the Friday going into a three-day weekend and life is good.  I’m headed upstate for a day at the Saratoga Racetrack tomorrow, but besides that, I have no other plans but to soak up the last weekend of summer, catching up on some reading and wear the loosest fitting clothing that I can possible find (case in point: this dress). Happy weekending friends!

Currently Craving: Summer & Fall

Floral Top & White Midi Skirt

Top // Skirt // Earrings // Bag // Heels // Bracelet // Cuff

After a few days of seasonal back and forth last week, I’ve decided not to get too far ahead of myself with fall style just yet.  I think Darlene said it best that summer doesn’t technically end until fall equinox on September 23rd, so why sell it short?  That said, I’m keeping my summer favorites like this floral top and white midi skirt on rotation, while slowly sprinkling in a few new fall staples like this gorgeous teal handbag.  Baby steps people.  Baby steps.

Flirting with Fall

Pre-Fall Must Haves

Dress // Necklace // Bag // Cuff // Heel // Backpack // Jumpsuit // Bootie // Necklace // Ring

This week, I had trouble choosing a season and sticking with it.  First it was fall, then it was summer and now I’m back at it with a few fall essentials to kick off the weekend.  Truthfully, I’m excited at the idea of switching gears and swapping out wardrobes — and I’m sure I’ll feel the same six months down the ready when I’ll be dying to switch back.  So even though I plan on enjoying the last two weekends of summer, I’ll also be flirting with fall on the sidelines.  Happy weekend loves!
