fall essentials: moody florals.

Last weekend, I stored away most of my bright summer pieces while pondering how I could continue to incorporate my favorite prints through the rest of the year. While my fall outfits will likely involve faux leather or leopard, floral prints will still stake a claim in this season’s wardrobe. The difference: I’m reaching for moodier florals in darker colors and edgier details. Check out a few of my favorite fall florals and let me know what you think of these transitional pieces.

You may have noticed that I don’t wear hats very often/at all on the blog. As much I would love to be a hat person, I suffer from a very serious condition called megalocephaly.

Just kidding. I googled “medical condition for abnormally large heads” and that fancy term came up on the search engine. In reality, I’m just very insecure about my rather rotund head — so much so that I sometimes ask the BF to lean in when we take pictures together so that we don’t look so disproportionate.

Having an oversized head prevents me from scooping up a few trendy toppers on my wish list (like these leather or leopard caps), but this weekend, I found the first baseball cap to fit my noggin in the men’s section of H&M. No shame here — I love borrowing from the boys. Just don’t ask me to join your fantasy football team.

Last Sunday, I had the joy of attending the RewardStyle party at the Empire Hotel. Prior to the rooftop party, a few of my lovely blogger friends and I ~~pre-gamed~~ gathered at Krista’s rooftop for outfit photos.

For the party, I scooped up a new dress from Forever 21. I’m obsessed with the texture of this dress and I love that the black and neon combo is the perfect balance of brights for fall. But of course, it wouldn’t be #NYFW if I didn’t turn it up a few notches, so I paired geo print on geo print. The result: a mix of sharp shapes, punctuated with bold accessories throughout — a formula that will never get old!
