Tweed Motorcycle Jacket

I may have lived in New York City for nearly a year and half now, but there will always be a little bit of tourist in me.  I mean, how could you not just be in awe?  This past weekend, Tracy and I paid a visit to the Bowery Mural, a giant wall space on the corner of Bowery and Houston that periodically features street artists from around the world.Tweed Moto Jacket

This mural is going down in the books as one of my faves.  Bright colors and a bold print — it was love at first sight and it was the perfect canvas for my tweed moto jacket, faux leather pants and neon accessories that look like they could’ve came from the mural itself.  What can I say?  I like my street style to match my street art.Neon Yellow Clutch Neon Yellow Clutch Neon Clutch & Hot Pink Heels

radiant scallops

Radiant Orchid Scalloped DressAnother day, another dress — except this one has a few details that make the frock feel extra special.  For starters, helloooo radiant orchid!  The color of the year is vividly energizing and makes everything feel like spring (despite the fact that we’re scheduled for three snowstorms this week).  But the icing on the cake has to be the scalloped neckline (to which my boyfriend asked if I took a pair of craft scissors to it).  Life is in the details and this dress pretty much fits the bill.

tuxedo topper

White Tuxedo Blazer & Red DressWhen it comes to special occasions, I have the tendency to buy an outfit only to never wear it again.  Well, not this year.  Part of the reason why I set a monthly shopping budget was to work with my wardrobe in new ways.  Since I bought this red lace dress for Valentine’s Day last year, it’s about time I bust it out again for a remix.
White Tuxedo Blazer & Red Dress The easiest way to transform an outfit?  Top it with a blazer — brownie points if it’s of the tuxedo variety.  You add instant polish and class, and best of all, that special little dress lives to see another day.White Tuxedo Blazer & Red Dress Black Lace Clutch White Tuxedo Blazer & Red Dress Valentine's Day Accessories
