With fall quickly approaching, it’s time we put away the bright colors and introduce richer shades into our wardrobe.  As the weather cools down, I’ll be sharing some of this season’s major color trends to help bring your wardrobe up to date.

Lesson #1: Red is out.  Oxblood is in.  Not a big fan of the name, but I’m obsessed with the color.  It’s a dark shade of burgundy with hints of brown and its richness just exudes warm and cozy feelings!  Check out my favorite oxblood items below and let me know what you think of this fall color trend.

1. J.Crew Edie Attaché Bag — $298
2. ShoeMint Hillary Bow Flat — $79.95
3. Topshop Sleeveless Peplum Top — $36
4. Essie Downtown Brown Nail Polish — $8
5. AllSaints Prism Pipe Skinny Jeans — $120

Before last year, I owned zero sweaters.  That’s right.  Zero.  They were never a shopping priority while I lived in Arizona, but after deciding to move to New York, I started stocking up on thicker knits.  Now that sweater weather is quickly approaching,* I can’t wait to start piling on the layers!  I’m currently adoring this striped sweater from J.Crew Factory, which will pair perfectly with casual jeans and cool kicks.

1. J.Crew Factory Charley Sweater — $54.50
2. Gap 1969 Boyfriend Jeans — $69.95
3. Coach Legacy Penny Crossbody Bag — $198
4. Gap Suede Loafers — $39.95 (check stores for availability)
5. J.Crew Factory Charley Sweater — $54.50
6. Ray-Ban Oversized Wayfarers — $150
7. Keds x Madewell Geo Sneakers — $62
8. Madewell Skinny Skinny Ankle Jeans — $115

* To my AZ friends: Check back in November when this post will actually be relevant.

It’s Round 2 of our style collaboration with Tara of Mix and Match Fashion, Sara of Glitter & Grace, Jessica of Bows & Sequins!  Every other week for two months, we’re taking one theme and styling it four different ways.  This time around, we’re showing you how to style one of my favorite looks: animal print!

To me, animal print goes with everything … including more animal prints!  Leopard loafers, a cheetah-print blouse, and a tortoise-colored watch — I’ve got enough animals to start my own zoo, but they all flow together effortlessly as long as the rest of the outfit is simple.

Check out how Tara, Sara, and Jessica incorporated animal print into their looks on their blogs!
