Street Art & Street Style

Black and Navy Faux Leather Outfit

One of my favorite things about living in NYC is that the entire city is basically an outdoor art gallery.  From the constantly rotating mural on Bowery to the month-long stint by the famous artist Banksy … you can get a feel for the creative energy running through the city just by walking down the street.  So today, I’ve partnered with Perrier to celebrate my city’s street art and show off a little bit of my own street style.

The only thing is … I was visiting friends and family back in Arizona during the time of my shoot and I ended up finding my favorite piece of outdoor work in my second favorite city: Phoenix.  I know, it’s not the first place that comes to mind when you think of street art, but as it turns out, it’s a huge hub for local artists.  Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix is home to dozens of murals and one larger-than-life structure.  Crazy curves, colorful shades … you know it was love at first sight.

And while I prefer my street art as bold and bright as can be, I’ve actually been gravitating in a completely different direction when it comes to my style.  I’m talking a little bit of faux leather, a dash of leopard and whole lot of black.  I guess you could say I brought a little bit of New York street style back home to Arizona.  It’s like having the best of both worlds and that’s something I can cheers to!

Racing Stripe

Navy Maxi Skirt with White Stripe

I’m halfway through my week-long vacay in Arizona and sometimes I can’t remember why I ever left in the first place.  Just kidding … for the most part.  It feels good being home, seeing friends and family and visiting old stomping grounds.  So while the rest of the world is starting to bundle on the thick, knit layers, I’m taking them off and opting for a super light cami and a soft, jersey maxi skirt.  And you just can’t beat that in November.

Two Ways to Wear: Blanket Scarves

Black Plaid Blanket Scarf

sweater dress // blanket scarf // sunglasses // tote // knee-high boots // leather watch

There are two types of people in this world: those who are sick of seeing blanket scarves in your Instagram feed or those who can’t get enough of them.  Hopefully you fall into the latter category like me.

Zara-Inspired Blanket Scarf

top // ripped jeans // tortoise sunglasses // blanket scarf // crossbody bag // booties

I may have missed the Zara blanket scarf bandwagon last year, but I have my eye on a few updated options to keep me warm this winter.  Even for fall, they make the perfect layering, thrown over a cozy sweater dress or added to a simple t-shirt and a pair of ripped jeans.  This cold weather accessory?  So hot right now.
