It’s quite likely that as you’re reading this post, I’m soaking up the sun somewhere on the beaches of St. Martin … probably in a neon swimsuit, a large floppy hat and oversized sunnies. Just your average Friday, right? Well whether your plans involve the beach, the pool or a picnic blanket in the park (aka NYC’s version of laying out), I rounded up a few of my favorite swimsuits and coverups. Spring Layers

It’s my second spring in NYC and wearing lighter layers is still a relatively new concept to me. If I were still in Arizona, I’d probably be in shorts and a tank top and blasting the AC right now. But here, I need to be ready for all sorts of temps — a chilly morning, a sunny afternoon and a usually freezing office. So when I first saw this military vest, I knew I would probably be living in all season long. It’s the perfect layering piece for a laid back look. So don’t be surprised if you see start to see it over and over again on the blog.

Polka Dot Wellies

It’s not often that I get excited about rain, especially when it falls on the weekend … all weekend long. But I’m trying to cut down on my weather whining and put two positive spins on last weekend’s storms. First: Rain is better than snow. Second: I got to take my new rain boots out for a spin.
They’re an instant pick me up. Even on a gloomy weekend like last week’s, I couldn’t help but smile at the darling polka dot print. Now, I’m not saying I’m thrilled about the rain forecasted for the rest of the week, but at least I’m prepared to splash through puddles in style.
