Currently Craving: Summer & Fall

Floral Top & White Midi Skirt

Top // Skirt // Earrings // Bag // Heels // Bracelet // Cuff

After a few days of seasonal back and forth last week, I’ve decided not to get too far ahead of myself with fall style just yet.  I think Darlene said it best that summer doesn’t technically end until fall equinox on September 23rd, so why sell it short?  That said, I’m keeping my summer favorites like this floral top and white midi skirt on rotation, while slowly sprinkling in a few new fall staples like this gorgeous teal handbag.  Baby steps people.  Baby steps.

Currently Craving: Slip-On Sneakers

Black Dress and Leopard Slip On Sneakers

With fall quickly approaching, I find myself obsessing over a new type of shoe game: the slip-on sneaker.  I know … I’ve only worn sneakers on the blog a handful of times, but after seeing my co-workers nail the look, I couldn’t help but be inspired.  This leopard pair is at the top of my wish list.

These kicks make any outfit look relaxed, yet still refined.  Before you go on discounting it as too tomboyish, try adding a pair to your favorite dress and I promise you: instant street style cred.  Check out three versions of the dress/sneaker combo and let me know which one is your favorite!

Desk to Drinks: Striped Pencil Skirt

Day and Night: J.Crew Factory Pencil Skirt

desk: top | skirt | bag | wedges | sunglasses | bracelet
drinks: top | skirt | necklace | heels | clutch | cuff

Having rekindled my love for pencil skirts, I wanted to show you two ways to wear one of the striped variety.  It may seem a little plain Jane, but the classic cut and print makes it much easier to spice up.  For starters, I added a splash of mixed prints for the desk (floral and stripes is my go-to combo).  I also love the clean lines of this black satchel and this open gold cuff.  And things get a little sultry for drinks, with a dark burgundy cami and a gorgeous leopard clutch.  Either way you style it, they’re both anything but boring!
