Shopping and Fashion Supporting Breast Cancer Research

There are plenty of ways to participate in October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month by doing what we what we do on a regular basis: walking, running, and obviously my personal favorite — shopping.  I’ve rounded up some items that are both charitable and chic and noted how much of your purchase actually goes to charity in the deets below. Oh and if pink’s not your jam, check out the Huffington Post’s list of 14 non-pink breast cancer awareness products!

1. Loft Marisa Straight Leg Corduroys — $59.50 (25% to BCRF)
2. Coach Madison Leather Isabelle Bag — $358 (20% to BCRF)
3. ORLY Pretty in Pink Nail Polish — $10 (20% to Cancer Schmancer)
4. White + Warren Pink Label Geo Scarf — $138 (50% to Women at Risk)
5. Chi Flat Iron — $99 (5% to The Rose)

I wish I could rewind life to this past weekend to relive gala all over again.  Drinking pina coladas by the pool, taking in gorgeous mountain views, goofing off in the photobooth, and of course, raising money for our clinic programs — these are the ingredients for a truly perfect weekend.  Thanks to all of my friends who made our annual charity gala amazing!

My favorite part about being a law student comes during the month of April, when the Student Bar Association hosts its annual Charity Gala.  I can’t think of a better way to temporarily forget the impending doom of finals than to dress up and dance the night away … all for a good cause to boot!

Here are a few shots from Gala, courtesy of my fellow 2L and photog extraordinaire, Taylor House.

A breathtaking view from Westin La Paloma.

Raffle prizes that benefited our law clinics.

A peak inside the dining room, set for nearly 300 guests!

The perfectly matching date (who I’m sure will be thrilled that he finally made it on here!).

The woman of the night who made the whole event happen: my amazing bff Emily!
