There’s no better reminder that fall is in full swing than a trip to Central Park. Treetops are crisped to a golden perfection and in a matter of a week or two, the entire park will be lit up with fiery foliage. As for me, I’m breaking out a felt fedora, an easy, flowing dress and a pair of killer booties and taking in the incredible scenery while it lasts.

Having lived in NYC for two years now, my appetite for exploration has expanded beyond the five boroughs and up the East Coast. There’s just so much to see and so many little towns to visit, it can get a little overwhelming. But this past weekend, I checked one destination off my list: Wesport, Connecticut.
It was just a little over an hour-long train ride out of the city, but once we got there, lt like a whole new world. Charming houses overlooking the Saugatuck River. American flags strewn across the bridge. And the epitome of what every Main Street should look like: local restaurants, cute shops and the absence of any hustle or bustle.
I did a little damage at one of my favorite stores before heading to brunch with the boyfriend and our darling friend Ellen. Even though we were only up there for a few hours, it was the perfect little respite from the daily grind (and grime) of NYC. I can’t say that I’m ready to move out to the ‘burbs just yet, but I’ll never say never … Do you guys have any recommendations on where else I should visit up on Connecticut?
