party plumage

Feather & Fringe Skirt

I can’t believe we’re nearly one week into 2014.  Last week, I rang in the new year in this little fringe number.  It was my last, but perhaps favorite purchase of 2013.  I had been looking for an affordable feathered skirt for ages, and while this one isn’t made of actual plumage, the omrebe fringe is like a light replica.  It’s now nesting happily in my wardrobe and I can’t wait to hatch up another outfit with it!Feather & Fringe Skirt Sequin Embellished Shoulder NYE Party Outfit Lace Clutch & Feather Fringe Skirt Lace Clutch & Feather Fringe Skirt

Weekly Inspiration - 01.03.14

This week I …

• Finally tackled a fun DIY project with this little sparkly ampersand.  When in doubt, add sequins!

• Truth be told, my original goal was to make my own sparkly steppers, but when that plan folded (aka I got too impatient), I pulled the trigger on these bad boys instead.  Start a new DIY and scoop up the real deal on mega sale?  Winners all around.

• Rang in the new year with some fabulous friends in this feathery number.  Of course, that was followed by a not-so-fabulous New Year’s Day in bed … until 6:00 PM.

• Was obviously too hungover to write out my New Year’s Resolutions on Wednesday, but I read about Jess of Here & Now’s 2013 Shopping Budget and felt inspired to commit to my own monthly budget for all of 2014.  More on that to follow!

• Promised I would step up my home decor game and have my eye on this python accent table.  Isn’t he handsome?

• Made the leap into cleaner beauty products, with the help of my green beauty guru, Brenda.  My organic arsenal now includes manuka honey, a clay mask, honey almond hand cream and a citrusy facial cleaner.  Can’t wait to test it all out and share the results with you!

Happy weekend friends!

resolved revival

Polka Dot Sweater + Navy Skirt

Happy 2014!  One of my resolutions is to get more mileage out my wardrobe, so I’m starting off the new year with some old favorites.  That means reviving an old polka dot sweater for the first time in over a year.Polka Dot Sweater + Navy SKirt

As a blogger, I sometimes feel like there’s a pressure to constantly be buying new clothes and wearing the latest trends.  Hey, I’m all for shiny new things, but there’s something even more satisfying about breathing new life out of old clothes.  Granted, I did just scoop up a bunch of new clothes on sale over the holiday break, but I promise to wear those pieces to shreds!Polka Dot Sweater + Navy SKirt Polka Dot Sweater + Navy SKirt Polka Dot Sweater + Black Statement Necklace Navy Skirt + Black Ankle Strap Pumps
