Bright Red Anorak Jacket

While we’re on the subject of season-appropriate jackets, allow me to introduce you to my new summer showstopper: a bright red anorak jacket.  You know I love this good utility jacket, so it’s no surprise that it was love at first sight with this bold-colored beauty.  I promise you, summer storms feel slightly more bearable with this little nautical-inspired topper.

As an Arizona girl born and raised, jackets are the last thing that comes to mind during the summer, but it’s a whole ‘nother thing living on the east coast.  The days are hot, but the nights get chilly and offices are usually freezing. And if you’re as unlucky as NYC was last week, summer rainstorms roll in on the regular.  So lightweight jackets are now officially staple in my wardrobe.  From anorak to denim to bombers — I don’t discriminate!  Check out some of my favorite summer outwear and let me know which are your fave!

Navy & White Striped Trench Coat

After a week of ominous clouds and sporadic showers, we were rewarded with plenty of  sunshine and a gorgeous summer breeze.  It was the perfect weekend to sip a little rooftop rosé.   Mother Nature must have gotten the memo: don’t mess with Saturdays.

Sadly, it looks like my little respite from rain will be short-lived.  I’m headed to Chicago this week where the forecast is looking grim and gloomy five of the six days that I’m there (c’mon Chitown!).  I’ll definitely be packing my new favorite trench coat (on sale now!) and trading in my high heels for some more appropriate footwear.  In the mean time, just let me have my moment!
