When I saw this marble printed tote pop up in my Instagram feed, it was love at first site. Stripes and florals are nice and all, but this print is something else. It feels unique and when taken outside of your bathroom surfaces, it’s completely unexpected. It makes everyday accessories like this iPhone Case or these sunglasses feel instantly indulgent and that’s something I can get behind. What are you thoughts on this little trend?
I love a good snow day as much as the next gal, but the magic of a pristine blanket of white lasts for only about fifteen minutes or so. For the rest of the week, everything gray: gray skies, gray slush (ugh) and for me lately, gray outfits. As much as I want to diversify my winter wardrobe, I basically live in long sweaters and leggings during the week. Can you blame me? I’m too busy focusing on not falling over an icy sidewalk!
Whether you love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. I get why some people are turned off by this high pressure, overpriced holiday, but it’s more about what you make of it than how much you spend for it. Last year, James and I started a new tradition where I take him out for dinner the night before V-Day and he cooks me a meal at home the evening of. We avoid the crowds and the ridiculously priced prix-fixe menus and spend more time enjoying what really matters.
But just in case you want to throw in a little something extra, I rounded up my favorite Valentine’s Day gift ideas for guys and girls. A delicious homemade meal and a carefully curated present? That sucks, said no one ever. For her (aka me!), a brightly-colored crossbody bag or a little coral dress would be the perfect gifts to usher in spring. For him, you could pour his favorite drink into a pair of copper mugs or pack him a duffel bag for a mini-adventure. Or, if you’re flying solo this year, treat yourself to something splurge-worthy because you don’t need a guy to get you roses when you’ve got a candle like this. How’re you planning to spend Valentine’s Day this year?
