New life goal: get myself to somewhere tropical at least once a year. I feel the major need to be on a beach right now, but taking an hour-long subway ride to the Rockaways doesn’t sound so appealing. Ever since we went to St. Martin last year, I’ve been itching to go back and wade through the serene blue waters with frozen drink in hand. Sadly, a trip to the Caribbean just isn’t in the cards right now, so I’ll just have to bring it to me. I’m loving all things tropical print right now, from maxi skirts to matching sets, just add a piña colada and voila — it’s instant island life! Or at least we can pretend it is. Four Years

So I kind of dropped the ball on something major over the weekend … Four years ago on Saturday, I started my blog under a different name with absolutely no understanding of the possibilities that awaited. Since then, my style has definitely evolved (although I loved mixed prints then and I still love ’em now) and so has my life. I met some of the most incredible friends through blogging — people I wouldn’t have ever crossed paths with if it wasn’t for a mutual love for street style, photography and brunch. It changed my perspective on the ordinary — from being more creative with my wardrobe to finding beauty in small things like a crowded crosswalk or a slice of avocado toast (#basic).

I thought about throwing on an over-the-top outfit or buying a giant cupcake to celebrate, but the truth is … I totally forgot to and I’m kind of okay with it. As I head into my fourth year of blogging, I’d want to focus on living in the moment, instead of always trying capture it. There have been times where I actually felt guilty for not writing a blog post or stressed that I missed a great Instagram opportunity. Blogger friends, I know you know that feeling! It feels ridiculous in retrospect, so this year, I’m letting go, keeping my head up and relishing in every experience that comes my way. Can’t wait to see what this year has in store!

Stripes & Sneakers

TGIF! The weekend could not have come any quicker. I feel like I’ve been c00ped up in the office all week, but now I’m ready to hit the town and soak up the sunshine! My dad is coming into town and true story: he’s here to visit my dog, not me, so you can probably find me at the park or brunching al fresco tomorrow.
