fall color trend: oxblood.

With fall quickly approaching, it’s time we put away the bright colors and introduce richer shades into our wardrobe.  As the weather cools down, I’ll be sharing some of this season’s major color trends to help bring your wardrobe up to date.

Lesson #1: Red is out.  Oxblood is in.  Not a big fan of the name, but I’m obsessed with the color.  It’s a dark shade of burgundy with hints of brown and its richness just exudes warm and cozy feelings!  Check out my favorite oxblood items below and let me know what you think of this fall color trend.

1. J.Crew Edie Attaché Bag — $298
2. ShoeMint Hillary Bow Flat — $79.95
3. Topshop Sleeveless Peplum Top — $36
4. Essie Downtown Brown Nail Polish — $8
5. AllSaints Prism Pipe Skinny Jeans — $120

mauricio alpizar: SS13.

This past Monday, I was invited to attend the fashion presentation for Mauricio Alpizar’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection.  Needless to say, as a little ol’ style blogger from Arizona, I was so excited to be attending my first NYFW event!  Not bad for my second week living in NYC, don’t you think?

The collection was chock full of my favorite things: sparkles, prints, and bright colors — not to the mention the gorgeously styled hair on all of the models!  Bold jewelry offset delicate pastel colors perfectly, but I’m pretty sure the sequined bolero (see above) stole the show.  What do you guys think?

#IFBCON style.

It’s been a week since I attended the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference (#IFBCON), but I’m still reveling in everything I learned at the jam-packed, two-day event.  It was definitely the perfect way to start off my first week living in NYC: making new friends, getting advice from top bloggers, and gaining inspiration from an incredible group of passionate, creative-minded people.  Of course, one of my favorite parts was sifting through the hundreds of bloggers that attended and admiring their individual style.  Here are a few shots of some of my favorite looks from the conference.
