Happy Monday! This weekend really got me into the holiday spirit and it’s not just because of this cheery red sweater and Starbucks’ holiday cups.
We had a few guests in town this weekend – one of my bridesmaids who lives in San Diego and two of our close friends from Phoenix. It was the first visitors we’ve had since moving to our new apartment (nothing motivates you to finally unpack that last moving box like a house guest!).
We did a few of the NYC highlights, like visiting the 9/11 Memorial and wandering through Grand Central, but since our friends have been to New York several times now, there was no pressure to hit every single attraction. Instead, we spent Friday night in with wine and my favorite card game. On Saturday, we celebrated our friend’s daughter’s first birthday, posted up at a favorite bar in our old neighborhood and then danced/sang the night away.
For me, this weekend’s holiday vibes wasn’t from all the sparkly Christmas lights or the spiked apple cider (although that certainly helps), but it was about getting to share our home and our city with some of our favorite people.
