Dressing for a West Coast Winter

How to Dress for the Winter in San Diego

BP turtleneck a line dress (comes in 4 color) / BP buffalo plaid oblong scarf / Chloe ‘Marcie’ crossbody bag in ‘Cashmere Grey’ / Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’ sunglasses / Converse ‘Chuck Taylor All Stars’ sneakers / Smashbox ‘Be Legendary’ matte lipstick in ‘Safe Word’

Whenever we visit the west coast in the winter, I get a little pang of jealousy as I imagine what life could be like if we just moved back home. I mean, bare legs in January? That’s a good enough reason to move back, right?

I guess “winter” is all relative though. All of my west coast friends get bundled up because it’s cold to them, while I’m out there without a jacket because it’s warm to me. My friends in the south are hoping for snow while I’m in NYC praying that we don’t get hit with a blizzard this season. The grass is always greener on the other side, isn’t it?

If I lived on the west coast permanently, my winter wardrobe would be full of light, layerable pieces like this long sleeve dress and buffalo plaid scarf, which I basically wore the entire week I was back home for the holidays. Not going to lie, west coast winters are the best kind of winters …. if you can even call it that!

  6. Love this outfit, but especially your scarf I saw this look and was instantly reminded of Valentine’s day. Also as a Southerner I can say I’d prefer a consistent winter instead of snow on Sunday and a 70 degree Friday.
