Because you know I love a good sale.  Bloomingdale’s is offering 25% off almost everything for their Friends & Family sale, including some of my favorite brands like Rebecca Minkoff, Kate Spade and Kendra Scott.  Personally, I have my eyes on a new pair of mirrored sunnies or this insanely cute scalloped tote.  There’s so much good stuff for spring, so stock up now — the sale ends on Sunday, March 29!

Skirt The Rules // Spring Trench CapeWhen I lived in Arizona, outerwear used to be at the bottom of my sartorial priority — I remember buying my first pea coat from Forever 21 and thinking it was an unnecessary splurge.  Oh how little I knew.

Skirt The Rules // Spring Trench CapeNow I have a coat for nearly every occasion.  A puffer jacket for the bitter cold,  a trench for rainy days and a wool coat for the chilly days in between.  The current focus: spring outerwear.  I’m in love with this trench-inspired cape from Ann Taylor.  It’s a modern twist on a classic style and I have a feeling I’ll be wearing it all season long.  Happy Monday friends!

Skirt The Rules // Cropped Trench Coat

In the spirit of sharing, I’m going to let you in on a not-so-secret secret: I am not a morning person — never have been and probably never will be.  Instead, I’m the kind of person that sets three different alarms every day and snoozes until the last possible minute.  Every.  Single.  Day.  This doesn’t bode well for a girl who has to make breakfast, get dressed and walk the dog before heading out the door.  So when I finally do get up for work during the week, I end up running around my apartment like a Tasmanian devil.

Skirt The Rules // Cropped Trench Coat & White Dress

First thing’s first: I throw open my closet and do a little on-the-spot styling.  A drop-waist dress is pretty much fool proof, but I’ll add an extra piece like this cropped trench coat just for good measure.  Plus, when you work for a fashion brand, you should at least look like you put some thought into getting dressed in the morning.  Words to live by!

Skirt The Rules // Cropped Trench Coat & Leopard ClutchIn terms of hair, it’s almost always guaranteed that I’m walking out the door with day-old curls.  Ain’t nobody got time to wait around for a curling iron to heat up.  Instead, I’ll breath a little life back into my locks with by spritzing on TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)done Sea Salt Spray and twisting and twirling the curls with my fingers for a tousled texture.  Afterwards, I’ll lay on hairspray from the same collection for enough volume and shape to get me through the day.  It’s a little bit wavy, a little bit undone and just enough to do the trick.

With such a quick and easy hair routine, I feel like a pit crew at the Daytona 500 every morning. Now if I could just get someone to fuel me up with coffee!  For more hair inspiration and tutorials, click here.
