In the spirit of sharing, I’m going to let you in on a not-so-secret secret: I am not a morning person — never have been and probably never will be. Instead, I’m the kind of person that sets three different alarms every day and snoozes until the last possible minute. Every. Single. Day. This doesn’t bode well for a girl who has to make breakfast, get dressed and walk the dog before heading out the door. So when I finally do get up for work during the week, I end up running around my apartment like a Tasmanian devil.
First thing’s first: I throw open my closet and do a little on-the-spot styling. A drop-waist dress is pretty much fool proof, but I’ll add an extra piece like this cropped trench coat just for good measure. Plus, when you work for a fashion brand, you should at least look like you put some thought into getting dressed in the morning. Words to live by!
In terms of hair, it’s almost always guaranteed that I’m walking out the door with day-old curls. Ain’t nobody got time to wait around for a curling iron to heat up. Instead, I’ll breath a little life back into my locks with by spritzing on TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)done Sea Salt Spray and twisting and twirling the curls with my fingers for a tousled texture. Afterwards, I’ll lay on hairspray from the same collection for enough volume and shape to get me through the day. It’s a little bit wavy, a little bit undone and just enough to do the trick.
With such a quick and easy hair routine, I feel like a pit crew at the Daytona 500 every morning. Now if I could just get someone to fuel me up with coffee! For more hair inspiration and tutorials, click here.

Love this look on you!

I love how you compared getting ready to a pit crew – too funny but accurate! I can’t imagine the pressure of always looking put together when you work in the fashion industry. You do it well though!

Super cute look! Can you double check the Asos link for the dress? It takes me to a cropped trench on Old Navy’s website. Thanks!
So cute! I am so not a morning person either. Mornings are the worst!

You totally pull off the undone look! And I feel you on the snoozing thing. Sometimes I hit snooze in my sleep without realizing it, and suddenly it’s been over an hour since my alarm originally went off. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN. I do not understand. Boo mornings.

You look stunning! I totally feel you on the morning routine- I am like a hurricane some mornings. Especially when I snooze one too many times! Thanks for sharing such a great post!
The cropped silhouetted of your trench makes this whole look so perfectly modern!

Your hair looks fantastic here! I am definitely a three alarms + snooze person, too (I had to start setting three because I sometimes sleep through alarm one and two!), and my hair usually ends up being the thing I don’t have time to deal with in the morning. I just got some new hot rollers — to replace the 70s era ones that take forever to heat up — so I’m hoping that will help!
