Skirt The Rules // Leopard Office Lamps

I feel like the timing of this week was off.  My office closed down early on Monday and didn’t re-open until Wednesday because of Winter Storm Juno.  The blizzard turned out to be a bust, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying a snow day.  As for this weekend, I plan on sleeping in, catching with a few friends and trying out a new surfboard-based fitness class (should be interesting).  So without further ado, here’s what’s on my radar this weekend:

Do trends still exist?  I thought this was a pretty interesting read on how social media has affected the longevity of trends.

The prettiest little bow blouse I ever did see.

So sad to see another brand bite the dust later this year, especially with pieces like this dress or this bag that are so on point.

Helpful tips on how to grow your blog following.

And because we all have to start from somewhere, here is a look into the first posts of some of my favorite bloggers.  And my very first nearly four years ago.

Next on the must have list: destroyed denim.

Gap’s sale is on sale so you can go ahead take an extra 50% off this puffer coat and this floral bomber.

My girl Naty gave her blog a makeover and it’s perfection!

You can never go wrong with florals and stripes.

Black and white perfection.

And in case you missed it, this week I talked about winter floralsspring colors and why I’m sick of wearing puffer coats already.

Pantone Colors of Spring 2015: Strawberry Ice

Sweatshirt // Pumps // Blush // Sunglasses // Skirt // Lipgloss // Heels // Backpack // Clutch

So I’m sure by now you’ve heard that marsala is the color of 2015, but if you feel like burning all your dark and gloomy shades of clothing right now, then I think you’ll appreciate Pantone’s color report for spring.  The roundup features an eclectic mix of sixteen shades, which is described as minimalistic, understated and natural.  It’s a breath of fresh air, which is why I’m rounding up some of my favorite pieces in my favorite hues.

Starting with the prettiest of the picks: Strawberry Ice (their names, not mine).  You know that I’ve always been a sucker for bold and bright, but I’m actually loving this chilled out shade of pink.  Of course, to keep things from looking a little too bubblegum, choose pieces with a little more edge (like this backpack or this graphic sweater) or something more minimalistic (like this clutch or these strappy heels).

Pantone Colors of Spring 2015: Toasted Almond

Coat // Tote Bag // Heels // Watch // Nail Polish // Sweater // Clutch // Sneakers // Sunglasses

If things still feel a little too Pretty Pretty Princess for you, you’ll probably enjoy Toasted Almond a little better.   It’s warm, comforting and has a hint of a summer glow that brings balance to the rest of the lineup.  I need these sneakers and this tote bag in my life.

Pantone Colors of Spring 2015: Dusk Blue

Coat // Sunglasses // Lace Top // Tote // Sneakers // Handbag // Necklace // Nail Polish // Heels

Finally, there’s Dusk Blue.  It’s calm, quiet and the perfect way to start injecting a little bit of spring into your winter wardrobe right now (new winter coat, anyone?).  From strappy heels to lace up sneakers, if you’re still unconvinced that this is one cool shade, let this bag speak for itself.

That’s all I have for now, but stay tuned, because there are still 12 other shades to share!  In the meantime, I want to know what’s your favorite color for spring?  Leave a message in the comments below and have a wonderful weekend!

Skirt The Rules // Peter Pan Collar Dress

Winter Storm Juno has come and gone and New York City is left to deal with the aftermath: dirty, slushy snow.  It ain’t pretty, so I’m throwing it back to this past weekend (pre-blizzard alert).  Because everyone loves a good #TBT, the team over at Boohoo challenged me to style a vintage-inspired look.

Skirt The Rules // Peter Pan Collar Dress

I saw this peter pan collared dress and immediately thought of Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family.  I know, odd choice for style inspo, which is why I added my own twist.  I went for navy, instead of black and paired the outfit with all brown accessories and a bold red lip.  The end result?  A look that was more classic prep than gothic chic.
