Holiday Gift Guide: Sparkles

sequin bee loafers // iPhone 5 case // glitter necklace // double ring // cat-eye sunglasses

You guys … the holiday season is here and I’ve got to admit, I’ve been in a little bit of denial that Thanksgiving is next week.  I’m not ready for all the shopping madness that quickly follows, but I can get on board with bringing you this year’s holiday gift guides!  No standing in line and trampling over people required.

First on the list is a roundup of all things glitter and sequin, because who doesn’t love a little sparkle?  I have this druzy double ring and if I had my ears pierced, the matching earring set would be on the top of my list.  I think these loafers are the perfect touch of whimsy, but if subtle sparkle is more your thing, this striped shirt might do the trick.  I can’t wait to share more gift ideas with you over the next month, but in the meantime, I would love to know what’s your favorite little piece of glitz?

J.Crew Stadium-Cloth Cocoon Coat in Neon Coral

There are a few things that I always check on my phone when I immediately wake up in the morning: my Instagram feed, any ongoing Words With Friends games and the weather.  But when it says it “Feels Like 17°F” outside, the last thing I want to do is crawl out of bed.  We’re in for a doozy this winter, which is enough justification for me to grab every bright, colorful coat in sight.  While I just bought this coat in grey, I’m loving it in cherry red and will probably add this cocoon coat to arsenal soon.  Let’s face it, we’re gonna need plenty of pep to get through this season.  What’s on your winter coat wishlist?

Black and Navy Faux Leather Outfit

One of my favorite things about living in NYC is that the entire city is basically an outdoor art gallery.  From the constantly rotating mural on Bowery to the month-long stint by the famous artist Banksy … you can get a feel for the creative energy running through the city just by walking down the street.  So today, I’ve partnered with Perrier to celebrate my city’s street art and show off a little bit of my own street style.

The only thing is … I was visiting friends and family back in Arizona during the time of my shoot and I ended up finding my favorite piece of outdoor work in my second favorite city: Phoenix.  I know, it’s not the first place that comes to mind when you think of street art, but as it turns out, it’s a huge hub for local artists.  Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix is home to dozens of murals and one larger-than-life structure.  Crazy curves, colorful shades … you know it was love at first sight.

And while I prefer my street art as bold and bright as can be, I’ve actually been gravitating in a completely different direction when it comes to my style.  I’m talking a little bit of faux leather, a dash of leopard and whole lot of black.  I guess you could say I brought a little bit of New York street style back home to Arizona.  It’s like having the best of both worlds and that’s something I can cheers to!
