How to Wear a Floral Skirt for Day or Night

desk: top | skirt | tote | bracelet | earrings | pumps
drinks: top | skirt | clutch | earrings | ring | heels

If there’s anything that living in New York has taught me, it’s been mastering the art of multi-tasking to maximize my time, my productivity and most importantly: my wardrobe.  I look for pieces that dabble in double duty — from desks to drinks or work to weekend — because ain’t nobody got time or closest space for a one-hit wonder.  That’s why I’m loving this floral wrap skirt, which is proper enough for the office or playful enough for the outing with the girls.  There’s plenty of mileage to be squeezed out of this one!  So which look is your fave?

Navy Pineapple Print Dress

Working in the corporate office of a fashion retailer, I often risk the chance of matching with my stylish co-workers.  But today, I’m more likely to look like the “twinsie” of a toddler.  Over the weekend, I picked up this pineapple print dress from the kids section of J.Crew Factory.  Yeah, the print comes in an adult-sized skirt and sweater, but this dress was the clear choice.  So until I go head-to-head on “Who Wore it Best?” with a 5-year old, age (and size!) is but a number … am I right?

What to Wear on a Weekend Tripfloral dress | white dress | romper | sunglasses | wedges | bracelet | cuff | bag

This weekend, I’m headed on quick trip upstate for the boyfriend’s family reunion.  I’m talking a six-hour drive on Saturday morning and back to the city by Sunday night.  It’s a lot of travel for such a short stay so a carefully curated weekender wardrobe is a must … which is easier said than done for a serial overpacker like me.  This time around, I’m counting on one-piece outfits like a floral dress or a striped romper.  They’ll take up minimal space in my weekender bag and should cover the range of weekend plans.  I’m keeping the accessories to a minimum with a cute cuff or two and a pair of comfortable wedges and I’ll BRB!  Happy weekend loves!
