I’m a little shy when it comes to form fitting dresses — I feel uneasy just thinking of the phrase “skin tight” and all the images that conjures up. But then came along this dress from Langford Market.
Long sleeves and a conservative hem make me feel more chic than clubby. And the fit? Sleek and slimming, rather than another “sl-” adjective that I’d rather not say. I won’t be ditching my beloved a-line shapes anytime soon, but I can say that I’m getting over my form fitting fears one outfit at a time.

This past Saturday, the BF and I went spent the afternoon in Brooklyn where we grabbed brunch, relaxed at a coffee shop and then indulged in a few sweet treats at a local bakery. It feels like a world away, but Brooklyn is one of my favorite places to explore.
Of course, whenever we pay a visit, I feel the need to mix up the wardrobe from the usual girly glam. I reached for my felt hat, plaid scarf and an oversized sweater for an effortless look. Thick rimmed sunglasses and skinny jeans might not be my thing, but I can still rock an outfit worthy of Williamsburg.

WEAR
Sweater: Joe Fresh
Scarf: Gap
Leggings: Forever 21
Hat: Prima Donna (c/o)
Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelet: C. Wonder
Shoes: Old Navy

There’s plenty to celebrate during the holiday season and with that, comes a plethora of occasions to play dress up. Today, I’m pulling together a few outfits for the holiday office party.
As much as I’m hoping that my office party involves an open bar, I feel like it’s a fine line between a good time and an HR complaint. After all, no one wants to become the subject of watercooler gossip the morning after the business bash.
For a balanced mix of work and play, pick a dress with an appropriate cut and length (I mean, that’s pretty much a given no matter what) and pair it with more playful accessories like a punchy necklace, pointed pumps and the perfect clutch.
