T-minus two days until James and I fly back to Arizona for Thanksgiving. We haven’t been back since our wedding in May and I can’t wait to be home for the week, catching up with friends and eating all of the turkey Mexican food. I rounded up a few of my favorite fall looks that I think would be perfect to wear for Thanksgiving. This striped long-sleeve dress is perfect for a casual dinner at home (just throw on this burgundy jacket if you need to run errands for the day). If you’re taking family Christmas pictures afterwards, this dark green dresss and pair of plaid pumps will get you in that holiday spirit. When the festivities are over, snuggle up in the cutest bow print pajamas and get yourself ready for a little online shopping (stay tuned for a guide to next weekend’s major sales!). Happy Thanksgiving friends! James and I are celebrating in NYC for the second year in a row and while we hate being away from family during the holidays, there’s still so much to be thankful for this year.
For starters, I’m so excited to start a new chapter of life with this guy. Wedding planning is under way (and so are all the wedding-themed Pinterest boards). We’re headed back to Arizona next weekend to pick the venue and set the date and we can’t wait to get this party started!
This year, I’ve been lucky enough to travel to a few new places like St. Martin, San Antonio and Austin and re-visit some of my favorite cities like Chicago, DC and my home sweet home of Tucson. There’s one big adventure left this year and I can’t wait to spend Christmas in Europe with my family!
Of course, there’s nothing like living, working and playing in New York City. Even after two years of living here, I still wake up in disbelief that I get to call this place home. Not every day is easy, but no day is the same. I’ve learned so much while living here and I know there will be plenty more memories to come.
I’m also thankful for the people in my life — my friends and family — many of whom came down to Tucson for a surprise celebration for engagement a few weeks ago. I’m so lucky to have you in my life!
And finally, I’m thankful for you — for following along, for inspiring me and for making blogging something I love to do. It’s not easy to manage on top of everything else going on in life, but it’s one of my favorite things I look forward to every day.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This year, I’m spending Turkey Day in NYC. It pains me to be away from the family for the first time ever, but I’m so lucky to have my boyfriend, the pup and some amazing friends that I consider my second family here on the east coast.
Today, I’ll be watching the Macy’s Day Parade and then whipping up a dish (pumpkin mac n’ cheese!) for a Friendgiving gathering. I used to wake up every Thanksgiving morning to watch the parade on TV — now I can’t believe I’m heading over to watch it in person!
There’s so much to be thankful for, but I’ll keep it short and sweet. To my friends and family back home, I love and miss you (hi mom and dad!). To my friends in NYC, thank you for coming into my life and making such a big city feel like home. And to all my readers, thank you for following me on this crazy adventure! Have a wonderful holiday! I’ll see you all on the other side of the food coma.
