There are two things that I’m an absolute sucker for: one shoulder dresses and prints. So you can probably imagine how dilated my pupils became when I first laid my eyes on this dress. From the graphic zig zag print to the loose, flowing sleeve, I love the 70’s vibe of the look. Deep breaths and minimal accessories keep me from a sensory overload.

Considering I live in Arizona where the temp doesn’t drop until November, I use the term “fall” pretty loosely. But even though we’re still in the triple digits, there are hints of autumn all around (Sbux Pumpkin Spice Latte!). From aisles of Halloween candy to racks full of coats (I start sweating just at the thought of outerwear in this weather), I can’t help but feel it’s time to put away the flip flops.
I’m left in a limbo of stylistic sorts. It’s too hot to fully embrace fall fashion, but it’s too late in the year to be prancing around in a tank top and cut-off denim. So after playing around in my closet last week, I accidentally concocted what might be the perfect solution. I combined a lightweight frock (you can’t see it, but the cut of the upper half totally reads summer sundress) with a boldly patterned button-up shirt (last seen here). Finally, the best of both worlds!

Summer is the time to kick back and get a little free spirited. It’s a time when the only reading to do is for leisure and the only items on the agenda involve travels and adventures. It’s already one month into summer break (time flies!) and I’ve been embracing the easy spirit with a loose dress, wavy hair, and big ol’ shades. Hope you’re enjoying it as much I am!
