I’m beginning to notice some recurring themes in my wardrobe lately: hot pink, leopard and stripes. It’s easy to gravitate to the same types of pieces over and over again, but hey — I love what I love and I’m thinking this combo will be on heavy rotation until my spring wardrobe can finally come out to play. texture twist

My favorite thing about dressing for the winter (and there aren’t that many) is playing with layers of textures that you just can’t do during warmer weathers. I’m talking about a chiffon blouse underneath a tweed jacket over lace pants and topped off with a pair of suede shoes. I feel like a children’s book with all the tactile experiences going on, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

all dressed up.

Before moving to NYC, I only owned one black dress in my otherwise colorful wardrobe. Fast forward a year and my collection is rapidly growing with LBDs of all shapes and sizes. I love them because they make for an instantly polished look every time, which is perfect for mornings where I’m rushing out the door. When I do have a little more time and brainpower to put into my outfit, I dress up my LBDs with playful accessories: a textured jacket, a sparkly necklace, a pair of neon pumps – or all of the above!
