Four Years

So I kind of dropped the ball on something major over the weekend … Four years ago on Saturday, I started my blog under a different name with absolutely no understanding of the possibilities that awaited. Since then, my style has definitely evolved (although I loved mixed prints then and I still love ’em now) and so has my life. I met some of the most incredible friends through blogging — people I wouldn’t have ever crossed paths with if it wasn’t for a mutual love for street style, photography and brunch. It changed my perspective on the ordinary — from being more creative with my wardrobe to finding beauty in small things like a crowded crosswalk or a slice of avocado toast (#basic).

I thought about throwing on an over-the-top outfit or buying a giant cupcake to celebrate, but the truth is … I totally forgot to and I’m kind of okay with it. As I head into my fourth year of blogging, I’d want to focus on living in the moment, instead of always trying capture it. There have been times where I actually felt guilty for not writing a blog post or stressed that I missed a great Instagram opportunity. Blogger friends, I know you know that feeling! It feels ridiculous in retrospect, so this year, I’m letting go, keeping my head up and relishing in every experience that comes my way. Can’t wait to see what this year has in store!

Floral on Floral

I’ve pined over matching sets before and lately, I feel like the trend has been popping up everywhere. From pretty prints to bold colors — this was a look that I had to try. So when I donned this floral two-piece back in Arizona, the first thing my fiancé said to me was, “Are you really wearing that?” #manrepelling

Not gonna lie, I did feel a little over the top in matching floral prints, but hey, why not embrace the garden party look? We could use a little spring over here on the East Coast! Strike a Cord

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: drapey dresses are kind of my thing and I can’t wait to be living in them come warmer weather. I brought this black coverup with me to Arizona and love the neon cords running down the sides to the open back. I ended up wearing it around and beyond the pool, because there’s nothing better than a dress that does double duty!
