Does the print on this skirt look familiar? I wore a similar looking top a few weeks back and can’t get enough of the watercolor scheme. The ethereal feel is a refreshing change of pace from the city grind. And as much as I’d love to escape the concrete jungle for the entire summer, sometimes a relaxed look and a trip to the park will do the trick.

light weight.

As an Arizona girl born and raised, hot summer weather never used to phase me. But as a recent New York transplant: I. Am. Dying. I’m such a light weight when it comes to humidity, so my solution for the past few days has been to throw on the most breathable layers possible — oh and yes, chop off my hair. So maybe one strategy is a little more extreme than the other, but at this point, I’ll do anything short of moving to Antarctica to stay cool.

Excuse the radio silence over here, but I just came back from the most amazing holiday weekend in North Carolina! I spent the 4th on a much needed escape from the city life, complete with good food and great friends. To kick off the weekend, I donned a preppy and patriotic combo of red, white and chambray (with a watermelon blueberry drink to match!). And I couldn’t imagine a better dose of Americana than spending four straight in the great outdoors — thank you so much to my wonderful hosts!
