These days, you can usually find NYC sidewalks filled with piles of dirty snow and crowds of giant puffer coats. And then there’s me: the nut job in a pair of brightly colored pants (hello radiant orchid!) and a loud leopard top. It’s a head-turning combo for sure, but I can’t help feel a little better about this whole polar vortex situation when my outfit gives me hope of warmer days to come.

tweed & lace

Mixed textures are the new mixed prints — I just can’t get enough of it this winter. And with bone-chilling temps in full effect, do you blame me for reaching for the tweed? I love how luxe the texture looks, especially up against a boldly colored lace.

texture twist

My favorite thing about dressing for the winter (and there aren’t that many) is playing with layers of textures that you just can’t do during warmer weathers. I’m talking about a chiffon blouse underneath a tweed jacket over lace pants and topped off with a pair of suede shoes. I feel like a children’s book with all the tactile experiences going on, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
