There are a few things in life that will never get old: morning strolls by the water, the view of the Manhattan skyline, and floral print frocks. … Okay, so maybe the first two have a little more longevity, but I love that there’s an infinite amount of ways to wear florals. This is my first foray into mirrored prints and I’m really digging the sleek and modern twist on an otherwise everyday classic. This dress will definitely be in heavy rotation both in and out of the office as we transition from summer to fall.

summer refresh.

You know how you can suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder from lack of sunlight in the winter? Well I’m pretty sure you can get it from too much humidity in the summer. Last week was quite possibly the hottest, muggiest week of my entire life and the extended heat wave affected my mood, my energy and my motivation to do anything.

Thankfully, blogging keeps me inspired to get dressed in the morning — against all desire just to lay in bed by the air conditioner. So when it comes time to pull together an outfit, the creative juices start flowing, leading me to refresh an old top (last seen here) and an old skirt (last seen here) into a revamped outfit with a rejuvenated outlook on the day.

Somehow, it’s Monday again. Thankfully, I’m feeling a little more cheery than usual. Maybe it’s because of the upcoming four-day weekend or maybe it’s because it’s the start of my favorite month of the year (hellooo birthday month!). Either way, I’m jumpstarting this week with a positive outlook and a cheery, floral print dress to match. Happy Monday friends!
