We might be into the first few days of fall, but today’s outfit is red hot. I don’t wear this color enough in my life, so when I sported this fun little frock a few weeks ago, it definitely turned some heads. Note to self: buy more red.

During Fashion Week, everyone wants to know what shows you went to and how many more you have lined up. The truth of the matter is, going to shows at Lincoln Center is a treat, but for me, NYFW was a balance between work and play. I still punched in at my 9-to-5 during the day and headed to events during the evening and weekends.
So on days where I played double duty, my outfit followed suit. This particular look was leaning more towards work wear, but details like the leather trim on a pair of slim dotted pants, the rich shade of burgundy on the clutch and the killer statement necklace took it from office to runway show in no time flat. I have another NYFW outfit coming atcha today and I especially love that this one’s a combo of business and pleasure — well, the kind of business that only goes down at Fashion Week (or maybe on a street corner). I took a day off from the real 9-to-5 and wore this look to a few showroom visits with some of my favorite brands. It was also the perfect getup to grab drinks later on with my girls Ashley, Ali, Lindsey and Adriana. Work hard, play harder, right? As for actual business meetings … I would probably suggest wearing real pants.
