TGIF! The weekend could not have come any quicker. I feel like I’ve been c00ped up in the office all week, but now I’m ready to hit the town and soak up the sunshine! My dad is coming into town and true story: he’s here to visit my dog, not me, so you can probably find me at the park or brunching al fresco tomorrow. As much I love skirts (I do have a blog name to live up to, afterall), I just don’t wear enough of them during the winter because I hate hate hate tights. Hate. But I think we’ve finally hit a turning point — even though there’s still a little bit of snow on the ground, spring is in the air!
And so the bare legs are back in NYC! Obviously they need to catch a few more rays, but I couldn’t wait to take this striped midi skirt out on the town. I paired it over a floral dress from last summer and the mixed print combo immediately added an extra pep to my step. Sunnier days ahead, my friends!

It’s been an interesting month in NYC so far. Mother Nature decided to dump one last pile of snow on us before the temps hit a glorious 45°F this weekend (can you believe this Arizona girl gets excited about the mid-40’s?). The only downside of being stuck in between the end of the winter and the first signs of spring: waiting for the snow to melt. It’s like we’re stuck in this wet and slushy limbo and — let me tell you — it’s not fun.
As we impatiently wait out this transition, you can probably find me kicking through mountains of dirty snow in a pair of leopard rain booties. I’ve already traded in my thick knits for lighter layers, like this easy sweater and tunic combo and once it hits 50°F, I can almost guarantee that I’ll be bare legged. Too soon? Or not soon enough? Spring, where you at?!
