There’s nothing like a pop of neon to counterbalance my neutral outfit from Monday. Surprise, surprise — my outfits refuse to stay subdued for too long. And considering that the sun starts setting at 4:00 PM around this time of the year, I could use all as much bright and cheery as I can get.
This past weekend, I participated in Santacon, a bar crawl where what seems like all of NYC dresses up as Santa for a day of debauchery and shenanigans in the snow. So glad I got to check that off my bucket list, but after an entire day of red, green and tons of bubbly I was ready to don more subdued shades (and oversized sunnies). I know, black and brown isn’t a color scheme that I usually gravitate to, but I do dabble in neutral looks from time to time. It’s really hard to go wrong with a classic combo, but it’s even better when elevated by the playful pairing of stripes, leopard and a bold red lip.
This past Saturday, the BF and I went spent the afternoon in Brooklyn where we grabbed brunch, relaxed at a coffee shop and then indulged in a few sweet treats at a local bakery. It feels like a world away, but Brooklyn is one of my favorite places to explore.
Of course, whenever we pay a visit, I feel the need to mix up the wardrobe from the usual girly glam. I reached for my felt hat, plaid scarf and an oversized sweater for an effortless look. Thick rimmed sunglasses and skinny jeans might not be my thing, but I can still rock an outfit worthy of Williamsburg.
