Skirt The Rules // Windowpane Print Dress

I spent the past weekend in Arizona for my bridal shower and flew back to New York on a Monday night redeye. After only one uninterrupted hour of sleep on the plane, I surprisingly made it through my first day back in the office without falling asleep on the job (yay me!).  It wasn’t until I finally laid down for the first time in 36 hours that I immediately crashed and haven’t fully recovered since.  I feel like I could sleep for DAYS.

So I can guarantee you that I’m probably putting as little effort into my wardrobe as possible this week.  This windowpane dress has been on major rotation lately.  It’s super comfy, but still put together, which makes for the perfect standby for recovery weeks like this one.  It also comes in a top and a skirt if you want to mix and match.  I love the dress paired with a military vest, a simple black clutch and a pair of leopard heels.  Easy peasy and effortless!  What’s your go-to lazy outfit?

Skirt The Rules // Spring Trench CapeWhen I lived in Arizona, outerwear used to be at the bottom of my sartorial priority — I remember buying my first pea coat from Forever 21 and thinking it was an unnecessary splurge.  Oh how little I knew.

Skirt The Rules // Spring Trench CapeNow I have a coat for nearly every occasion.  A puffer jacket for the bitter cold,  a trench for rainy days and a wool coat for the chilly days in between.  The current focus: spring outerwear.  I’m in love with this trench-inspired cape from Ann Taylor.  It’s a modern twist on a classic style and I have a feeling I’ll be wearing it all season long.  Happy Monday friends!

Spring is in the Air

As much I love skirts (I do have a blog name to live up to, afterall), I just don’t wear enough of them during the winter because I hate hate hate tights.  Hate.  But I think we’ve finally hit a turning point — even though there’s still a little bit of snow on the ground, spring is in the air!

And so the bare legs are back in NYC!  Obviously they need to catch a few more rays, but I couldn’t wait to take this striped midi skirt out on the town.  I paired it over a floral dress from last summer and the mixed print combo immediately added an extra pep to my step.  Sunnier days ahead, my friends!
