tweed + tights.

After two weeks of finals, I’m back!  And although I’ve been busy … “studying,” I also made time for some retail therapy and stocked up on sweaters and other much needed cold weather gear.  Seriously, what I have been wearing for the past 25 winters?

One of my favorite finds are these tweed shorts from H&M.  Tweed is such a cool winter texture, but can sometimes look a little granny (loooove you grandma). So make it more youthful by pairing tweed shorts or a miniskirt with tights and chunky heeled boots.

winter maxi.

My friend Sarah can rock a maxi dress like no other (think tall, blonde, gorg).  I, on the other hand, have to be super selective in finding a dress that doesn’t swallow me whole.  So when Sarah told me that maxi dresses don’t work in the winter, I set out to prove her wrong.

Granted, I use the term “winter” loosely, considering we live in Arizona. Nevertheless, the challenge inspired me to adapt a conventionally summertime dress for cooler weathers.  Layers are the obvious key to this transition and while I’m still sleeveless in November (75°F yesterday), a chunky cardigan or sweater would work just as well.  Love ya Sarah!

still rompin' around.

If you know me, you probably know how much I love rompers.  They’re playful, easy to wear, and can be dressed up or down for almost any occasion.  I love them so much that even a little cold weather isn’t going to stop me from rompin’ around.  To make it work for fall, pick a romper in a deeper hue and pair it with warmer items like cardigans and flats.
