As someone who has had ZERO snow days growing up, I have to admit: there’s nothing like waking up to a blanket of snow and an email saying that the office is closed for the day. Granted, instead of running outside to make snow angels, I was inside working remotely … but at least I got take my conference calls in pajamas all day.
Later in the afternoon, James and I ventured outside to grab coffee … and because I wanted an excuse to put on my cozy knit top and snow boots for the first time this season. By then, most of Winter Storm Juno had already turned into dirty slush, but it’s all good. I’ll just save the snow angels for the next blizzard!

It’s somehow Monday again and I need all of the coffee. This weekend went by much too quickly, what with the shorter days and now the pre-winter chill that has just officially rolled in. Up until yesterday, I could still get away wearing a simple cami or a short-sleeve tee outside but now sweater weather is here and I don’t think it’s leaving anytime soon.

So let’s have fun with it before we’re all condemned to bundle up in bulk. I love the idea of a light crewneck sweater over a floral pencil skirt. It’s cozy enough to survive a dip in degrees, but still refined enough for the office. An outfit that’s weather and work appropriate? Count me in.

This past weekend, we headed upstate for the boyfriend’s family reunion. It was a quick trip, but a refreshing respite from the daily grind. It’s amazing how beautifully different it is outside of Manhattan, whether it’s a half hour or six hour drive away. Note to self: get thyself outside of the city more often.
Whenever we do hit the road, comfort is key. I picked up this slouchy striped tank right before our trip, because it’s the kind of top that weekends are made of: loose, laid-back and ready to be lived in. Now, can the week hurry up and be Friday already??
