Last week, I lamented about the grossness of the day after it snows. Today, I’m celebrating the magic of a snow day! I’m talking about benches covered in a pristine layer of white and snowflakes stuck in your hair. Those are the moments that make the bitter cold of winter worth it. Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

There’s something magical about waking up to snow falling outside your window. And there’s something a little less magical about the day after it snows. This outfit was taken during the latter.
Pristine snow turns into dirty slush and melting ice drips down from the awnings. Not quite as fun, but it’s a good enough excuse to bundle up in faux fur and throw on the rain boots. Looking forward to warmer (and drier!) weather as I head home to the west coast for the holidays tomorrow!

This past weekend, I participated in Santacon, a bar crawl where what seems like all of NYC dresses up as Santa for a day of debauchery and shenanigans in the snow. So glad I got to check that off my bucket list, but after an entire day of red, green and tons of bubbly I was ready to don more subdued shades (and oversized sunnies).
I know, black and brown isn’t a color scheme that I usually gravitate to, but I do dabble in neutral looks from time to time. It’s really hard to go wrong with a classic combo, but it’s even better when elevated by the playful pairing of stripes, leopard and a bold red lip.
