When Summer Met Fall

I know, right off the heels of me declaring my endless love for summer colors, I come back with a darker palette of military green, black and leopard. What can I say? I’ve been a bit of a mixed bag lately.

The tricky part is as much of my mixed feelings as it is my mixed wardrobe. I’m not ready to say goodbye to summer, but all new clothes have me excited for fall. It’s a conflict that can only be resolved by compromise — combining darker shades of color with light fabrics and simple cuts. I’m loving this silky cami (on super sale!) paired with a delicate necklace, crispy white shorts and my favorite leopard heels. Who said you can’t have the best of both worlds?

Navy Florals

Last week, I was in Arizona for work and a little bit of play. I had these grand plans of writing all of my posts ahead of time, but as you can tell, that didn’t work out. But no matter … after a week of radio silence, I’m back in NYC, back on the grind, and back on the blog.

Today’s outfit was fueled by a recent trip to the outlet mall upstate. Usually, outlet stores give me a major headache, but this navy number stood out in the racks like it was meant for me. Perfect for work or brunch, there was never a doubt that this floral print was coming home with me. Happy Monday loves — it feels good to be back!

Monday Mantra

We all know Mondays are rough. I’m talking hit the snooze button at least three times kind of rough. Thankfully, there are a few things that motivate me to crawl out of bed in the morning — the number one being the chance to put my best foot forward for the week.

Sounds corny, I know, but I feel like the way Monday plays out sets the tone for the rest of the week. That’s why I try stepping up my outfit A-game on days like today. For me, a pale pink skirt and a pop of leopard is just as energizing as a shot of espresso. What’s your pick me up look like today?
