It’s Friday — glorious, glorious Friday!  I don’t have any big plans this weekend, but one thing that’s on the agenda is date night.  James made it through two years of living in NYC, so we celebrated over his very first meal here: Thai food via Seamless (we do the same for my anniversary, except I had pizza).  But as much as I dining in sweatpants, sometimes a girl just wants to don the prettiest pleated skirt and a pair of leopard pumps (just make sure you wearing something a little more substantial than a fur stole if it’s freezing out!).  I’m counting down the hours until we hit the t own, but I’d love to know what your weekend plans/outfits entail.  TGIF loves!

The Skinny

Zara Red Coat

Yesterday, I styled a pair of dark washed, straight legged jeans from Lee and I have to admit, I loved branching out and trying a new cut of denim.  Today, I decided to go for something that was little more up my alley: black skinny jeans.  It’s a wear-with-anything kind of piece and a major staple in my closet.  To up the ante, I added a striped top and a striking red coat for a look that’s effortlessly refined and totally reminiscent of my recent trip to Paris.

Denim Daze

Skirt The Rules // Faux Fur Trimmed Coat

Getting dressed in the morning is usually my favorite part of the day … that is, until this time of the year.  When it’s cold enough to see your breath in the air or frost on the car, I can barely manage to pull myself out of bed let alone put clothes on!  For the next two months, finding the balance between warmth, comfort and style is key.

So when Lee sent me jeans to try on a few weeks ago, I was A) excited to throw on an outfit that didn’t involve leggings and B) pleasantly surprised at how comfortable their denim is!  I promise you, their Slimming Stretch fabric is a winter wardrobe game charger.  The denim is super stretchy, contoured to fit and above all else, feels so good.

I loved the saturated hue of this straight leg pair and embraced the timelessness of the denim with a simple sweater layered over a plaid shirt.  Between the faded wash and the pops of plaid and leopard, it felt like the perfect balance between casual and cool.  I’ll be over on their blog styling another denim look this week, so be sure to check it out!
