How to Style a White Office Desk

I know, it’s been a while since I’ve written a weekly recap.  It’s one of my favorite posts to write since it justifies my hours of aimless Internet surfing and online window shopping.  Over the summer, it fell by the wayside because … it’s summer and adventures were calling.  Well I’m back with my favorite thoughts, stories and sales of the week.  Enjoy!

Back to School: So maybe my academic days are over, but I’ve been on a huge backpack kick lately.  They make running/biking around the city so much easier!  On my wish list: one, two and three.  And in my wildest dreams: this one.

There’s No Place Like Home: I was back in Arizona all of last week for work and play.  There’s no place like home and seriously no better place to get a burrito.  I even smuggled two onto my flight back to NYC!  Is a 3-ounce cup of salsa count TSA-approved?

Family Biz: While I was in AZ, my older brother played blog-photog for this post.  I always get nervous when someone new takes my photos, but he was great, patient and didn’t scoff at my crazy demands.  Is that too much to ask? 😉

Treat Yo’self: One of my teammates at work believes in treating yourself after a hard day/month/season of work and I couldn’t agree more.  On my need-to-save-my-lunch-money wish list: this beauty.  On my more-likely-to-purchase-now wishlist: this one.  Thanks for the encouragement/internal conflict Tish!

Sneak Attack: Are you sick of me talking about slip-on sneakers yet?  I wrote about them here and created another weekend look around them here.  But for real, I need a calf-hair leopard pair and am seriously stalking options one, two and three.

Gorgeous Pink Peonies

This week, I …

• Stocked up on a few summer accessories with two gauzy pom pom scarves, a striped pouch, a slouchy tank and an ultra-soft chambray shirt.  Really not looking to tallying up my shopping budget for the month.

• Finally got around to hanging up these gold polka dot wall decals in our bedroom.  Can’t wait to show you the final product!

• Rounded up a few of my favorites from the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale.  I’m majorly lusting over this hot pink Rebecca Minkoff tote.  Do I or don’t I?

• Bought myself the cutest bike helmet from C. Wonder on major sale as a motivator to start biking around the city.  Stylish safety first!

• Cozied up in a neighborhood coffee shop and read #GIRLBOSS cover to cover.  It was a such a good, funny and inspiring read — I highly recommend it!  Next up: this book.

• Need to get myself a pair of drawing slouchy pants.  They’re perfect for breezy summer nights.  I’m loving them in black, stripes and lace!

• Am so excited it’s peony season!  The boyfriend doesn’t share the same enthusiasm, but he bought me these anyway. 😉

• Hung up the second piece of artwork to grace our apartment walls.  By the time I have this place fully decorated, it’ll probably be time to move out … Help please!

• Am so ready for summer to be here!  Kicking things off with a Pinterest recipe binge — there’s plenty of inspiration on my cocktail recipes board.

Blue Lounge Chairs at the Beach

This week, I …

· Added a shiny new stamp to my passport with a quick getaway to St. Martin.  I can’t wait to share all of our vacay photos, but you can already catch a few snaps on Instagram.

· Lived in a few easy summer pieces during our trip, including this printed romper and these little pom pom shorts.  I promise you, you need them in your life!

· Love that LOFT is already celebrating summer with 40% off everything!  My faves: this sleeveless chambray dress, this polka dot dress and this paisley maxi dress.  Sale ends on Sunday!

· Read Fault in Our Stars while I was on vacation.  It’s a tearjerker!  More book recommendations please!

· Got a sneak peek of Oasis’ fall/winter collection.  Um yeah, I know — I don’t even want to think about cold weather right now, but there was so much to love!  Until then, I have my eye on their summer collection.

· Am loving all things nautical over at C. Wonder.  Can we talk about rope necklaces number one and two?  Also loving this graphic sweater, this striped tote and this darling dress.

· Made a vow to do a little more cooking following a very indulgent vacation so I’m collecting ideas over on my recipe board on Pinterest.  Need to try these loaded sweet potatoes.  I’d love to hear about your favorite recipes!

· Also have my eye on some new arrivals from Ann Taylor.  Take 40% off your entire purchase this weekend only!  I’m loving this periwinkle dress, this pom pom scarf and these snake skin heels.
