Sorry for the radio silence, but a week of rest and relaxation was just what the doctor ordered.  Last week, I made an overdue visit to the beach, indulged in my favorite summertime treats, and had one last hurrah in downtown San Diego.  The quick trip was just what I needed to feel rejuvenated.  Now it’s back to the grind and our regularly scheduled programming.

Keeping up with law school, work, and a blog is no walk in the park, and come finals time, it’s a full on marathon.  In the span of two days, I’ll be zipping through three final exams, back to back to back.  So for today and tomorrow, it’s all work and no play. But hey, Starbucks never looked so great.

Okay I lied … maybe a little play.

I was looking back at my most recent shoe purchases and couldn’t help but notice a pattern forming in my closet.  Lately, I’ve been really into simple designs with a little twist.  Since I prefer to work a shoe around an outfit, rather than the other way around, I’ve been gravitating toward pairs with a neutral foundation.  But I get a real kick (oh man, sweet pun) out of unexpected details like a delicate stitching, a glimmer of hardware, or a flash of animal print.  What do you look for in a shoe?
