Happy Friday friends! It’s been about 1.5 months since we moved into our apartment and I feel like I’m overdue for a home update!

We’ve been slowly chipping away at unpacking – yes, we’re still unpacking! One week after we moved at the end of August, we left on a weeklong vacation to Spain. Probably not the smartest move, but you know … priorities! Since then, we’ve been spending weekends at home and things are slowly coming together.

Moving from a small one-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom has its challenges. For starters, we needed more furniture to fill the place! I’m most excited to have room for a dining table – something we haven’t had since we lived in Tucson six years ago! I’ve always wanted a dining table with a bench. I plan on ditching the two chairs it comes with and placing four of these beautiful French bistro chairs around the table so that we can seat six guests. They’re a bit of a splurge, but I’ve been waiting for Serena & Lily to have their friends and family 20% off sale to pull the trigger (it’s happening now through Monday, October 15!).

For our master bedroom, we kept our gray velvet bed which we bought a few years ago. At our old place, we only had room for one small nightstand from Ikea, and now we have enough room to each have one! It’s like we’re real people now – ha! I loved the look of this nightstand with its two-toned wood and gold hardware. It feels sophisticated, but still cohesive with our modern coastal feel.

Our second bedroom is currently being used as an office. We pulled off this Ikea hack to make a double desk situation, so I ordered matching velvet swivel chairs. I also ordered this clothing rack in hopes of turning our office into my cloffice (just kidding babe!). But really, I think it’ll be nice to have a few pieces on display that I plan to wear for work or need to photograph for the week. Still … a girl can dream!

While we’re waiting for the rest of our furniture to arrive, our brand new sleeper sofa was delivered two weeks ago. I’ve been wanting to upgrade from our current sofa because 1) we have room for a sectional now and 2) we want to be able to host friends and family when they come to visit. It’s even more beautiful in person and I can’t wait to share with you actual photos soon!

Lastly, we just installed new light fixtures around the home, including this gorgeous chandelier in our living room and these drum flushmounts in our bedroom, living room and foyer.

The decorating process has been fun and all, but honestly, I wish I could just snap my fingers and be done with it already! I’m so excited to share the final look, so more sneak peeks and a full on home tour to come!
